FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Induction melting of burden material is conducted in steel crucible in gas medium consisting of the mix of argon and Freon 12 at the ratio of 4:(1-2). Prior to casting, melt is heated to 800-830°C and held hereby for 20-40 minutes. Magnesium chloride (MgCl2) resulted from reaction of Freon with magnesium dissolves in magnesium melt and bleeds as fine particles that make crystallisation grains.
EFFECT: fine-grained structure, ruled out metal flux corrosion.
