FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 3,7-diaminophenothiazine from 1,4-phenylenediamine and a sulphurous reagent. The sulphurous reagent used is hydrogen sulphide, and the reaction mixture is subjected to electrolysis in an organic medium in which a background electrolyte is dissolved, at oxidation potential of 1,4-phenylenediamine at process temperature of 20-25°C.
EFFECT: improved method.
