FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of organic chemistry, in particular, to methods of obtaining element sulphur from hydrogen sulfide-containing gases and gaseous condensate mixtures, and can be applied at enterprises of chemical, petrochemical, gas-processing and metallurgical industry. Method of obtaining element sulphur from hydrogen sulfide includes carrying out hydrogen sulfide electrolysis on platinum anode in organic solvent in presence of background electrolyte at temperature 20-25°C and atmospheric pressure. Before carrying out hydrogen sulfide electrolysis triethylamine is preliminarily introduced into organic solvent.
EFFECT: improvement of the process of obtaining element sulphur, which makes it possible to considerably reduce value of anode overvoltage in carrying out sulphur electrosynthesis basing on hydrogen sulfide Conversion of hydrogen sulfide into element sulfur constitutes 95-98%.
