FIELD: electrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: proposed method may be performed in presence of hydrogen sulfide and acid corrosion inhibitors; proposed method includes determination of concentration of mercaptans in non-aqueous medium by calibration chart of linear dependence of concentration versus anode peak of radial cation of mercaptan by current. This dependence is obtained during use of method of cyclic volt-amperemetry on solid electrodes. Plotting of calibration chart is based on tendency of mercaptan to electrochemical single-electron oxidation in non-aqueous media to radical cation at potential of Eap. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination; reduction of time required for performing analysis.
