FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed method of obtaining information on spatial distribution of scintillator output for primary radiation does not require irradiation of the scintillator with primary radiation. The method comprises a step of irradiating the scintillator with secondary radiation to form an image of spatial distribution of secondary output of the scintillator for said secondary radiation. The image of spatial distribution of secondary output corresponds to the image of spatial distribution of primary output for primary radiation. In embodiment of the invention, i.e. an X-ray imaging device, where the primary radiation is X-ray radiation, the invention enables accurate calibration of the X-ray detector without irradiation of the X-ray detector with X-ray radiation.

EFFECT: irradiation with ultraviolet radiation as secondary radiation provides the required image of spatial distribution of secondary output, which can be used for calibration.
