SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Orthopedic auxiliary means, in particular, prosthesis or orthesis, which contains orthopedic hydraulic shock absorber, including formed in case displacing chamber, rod installed in displacing chamber, reservoir for flowing medium, return pipeline, valve, hinge and device for measurement of acting on hinge force (FB) for bringing valve into closed state, if said acting on hinge force (FB) is higher than preliminarily specified threshold value. Return pipeline connects displacing chamber with reservoir for flowing medium. Valve can take open position and closed position, in which it, at least, partly closes return pipeline. Hinge has first shoulder and second shoulder. Fist shoulder is connected with case, the second one is connected with piston. Shock absorber and hinge are installed together on one frame or form frame, which is intended for travel, in particular, displacement relative to one of shoulders. Method of control of said orthopedic auxiliary means contain stages: measurement of acting on hinge force (FB) and control of valve in such a way that it, at least, partially closes return pipeline. Orthopedic hydraulic shock absorber, which is intended for application in said prosthesis or orthesis contains formed case displacing chamber, installed in displacing chamber piston, reservoir for flowing medium, return pipeline, which connects displacing chamber with reservoir for flowing medium, and valve, which can tale open position and closed position, in which it, at least, partly closes return pipeline. Piston is installed in displacing chamber with formation of circular clearance.

EFFECT: possibility of applying orthopedic auxiliary means for geriatric patients is provided.
