FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is realised by polycondensation of one or more dicarboxylic acids or diesters thereof and one or more aliphatic diols at normal pressure in the presence of a catalyst, followed by removal of polycondensation by-products and excess diol. The catalyst used is titanium tetrabutoxide. The molar ratio of dicarboxylic acid to diol is equal to 1:1.1. The by-products are removed by a stream of inert gas at temperature of 200-210°C.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain polyesters having high molecular weight, at relatively low synthesis temperatures and normal pressure.
