FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: ball valve includes a body with inlet and outlet branch pipes, a ball gate and seats in the form of O-rings. The ball gate represents a hollow thin-wall ball with a central through channel in the form of a hollow cylinder tightly attached to external surface of the ball. The valve body has through drain holes. The ball gate is equipped with ribs and ball segments with central holes for the hollow cylinder. Ribs are made in the form of thin-wall plates of round shape and located diametrically opposite in inner cavity of the ball gate immediately under seats at closed position of the ball gate.

EFFECT: enlarging operating capabilities of the ball valve and reducing its weight.
