SUBSTANCE: methods and a device are provided for autonomous handover between WiMAX networks (global interoperability for access in a microwave range) and CDMA (code division multiple access), EVDO (evolution data only) or lxRTT (single radio transfer technology or 1x) during regular operation of a mobile station (MS), operating in two modes.
EFFECT: methods and a device may improve continuity of service during handover and not require any changes in WiMAX or CDMA standards.
