SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mass exchange. Mass exchange column extends along vertical axis to comprises multiple horizontal contact trays spaced apart vertically in said column. Every said contact tray has tray plate to receive fluid flow with, at least, one ascending vapor passage with central section and, at least, two end parts, narrower than central part, and valve cover arranged in said opening and having central part spaced from tray plate and located above opening central part, two inclined sections extending from opposite parts of central section and located on tray plate, and, at least, two lugs. Every said lug extends from appropriate inclined section and through appropriate end part of the opening into tray plate and thereunder.

EFFECT: simplified design.
