FIELD: heat exchange.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to columns, where mass exchange and heat exchange take place. Contact plate for use in a mass exchange column comprises: a flat sheet of a tray of a column; and a plurality of valves distributed along the tray deck of the column, wherein each of the said valves comprises an opening extending through the tray deck of the column so that the fluid can pass through the web of the tray of the column, a threshold extending upward from the plate of the column tray along the circumference of the opening, and a valve cover supported by the support legs above said opening and said threshold, wherein said valve cover extends completely beyond the circumference of said opening and has a perimeter portion extending downward; wherein said support feet are located on opposite ends of said valve cover.
EFFECT: technical result is improved interaction between fluid flows flowing inside columns.
