FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical and electrophysical machining. In making tool electrode for 3D electrochemical machining, positive pole of cyclic pulse constant current source and pulse current source with frequent pole change are connected to its two parts to machine its surface on switching off current source and switching on another current source in turns. With switched-on cyclic pulse constant current source, tool electrode working surface is formed to reference part profile until contact between tool surfaces. Thereafter, said current source is disconnected to draw tool electrodes both parts aside and to withdraw reference part. Then, tool electrode parts are driven into working position to switch on pulse current source and to run in electrode tool working surfaces. Switching ON/OFF of current sources is performed until complete formation of reference part profile at tool electrode working surface.
EFFECT: lower labour input.
