SUBSTANCE: liquid metal alloy (1) of a coating is continuously supplied into a crucible (2). A sample of a liquid metal reaching the measurement surface, with a temperature controller (7), installed near the measurement surface, is brought to the temperature providing for isolation of admixtures, mainly containing iron, from the specified measurement surface. Direct measurement of the composition on the surface of the liquid metal alloy is carried out with a device (9).
EFFECT: improved quality and validity of measurement of chemical composition of an applied liquid coating by exclusion of effect from admixture elements contained in a melt.
