FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to butting of hollow metal panels in making high-speed hull structures and superstructures. Proposed metal panels consist of outer bearing layers and inner filler. Inner filler is composed of discrete metal ribs. Metal inserts mating the panel inner cavities are arranged inside the panels. Said inserts are arranged in symmetry about panels butt are bonded to inner filler by adhesive based on organosilicon compounds. Adhesive composition is applied on insert surface at distance from the butt making, at least, 10 mm to insert one height. Inserts on every side from the butt are to magnitude making, at least, three heights. Inserts are fitted in quantity making, at least, half the quantity of cavities. Insert wall thickness makes at least the filler wall.
EFFECT: higher strength of butt joints, decreased labor input.
