FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for oil, chemical and metallurgical industry and aircraft engineering and can be used in making articles operating in oxidative gas streams, in abrasive-containing gas and liquid streams. The method of making articles from composite material involves making a workpiece from porous graphitised carbon material, heating the workpiece and the metallic charge mixture in a closed reactor to temperature of formation of metal vapour, mass-transfer of the metal into pores of the workpiece material by saturation with a condensate of metal vapour, followed by carbidisation. Condensation of metal vapour takes place in pores of the workpiece material or on its surface or inside the reactor. Condensation of metal vapour in pores of the material and/or surface of the workpiece is carried out by forming a lower temperature on the surface of the workpiece compared to temperature of the vapour and/or cooling the workpiece at pressure in the reactor below 36 mm Hg. Condensation of metal vapour in the reactor is carried out by cooling the reactor with the workpiece while simultaneously raising pressure in the reactor or at steady-state high pressure in the reactor.

EFFECT: high reproducibility of results, degree and uniformity of metal coating.
