FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: proposed composite comprises polymer binder and high-dispersion siloxane filler at the following ratio, wt %: shockproof polystyrene - 38-46, siloxane filler - 54-62. Proposed method comprises synthesis of siloxane filler (methyl polysiloxane xerogel), dissolution of said polystyrene in toluene, its mixing with filler powder by ultrasound cavitation at 22 Hz, removing of solvent and compacting produced powder mix. to remove said solvent, solution is heated to 115°C and cured for 30 minutes. After complete removal of solvent, dry mix is heated to 170°C and cured for 20 minutes. Compaction is performed by solid-phase compaction at 200 MPa.

EFFECT: higher resistance to UV radiation, expanded operating temperature range.
