TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCING WORKPIECES FROM POWDERS OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS BASED ON ULTRA-HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYETHYLENE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC C08J3/28 C08L23/06

Abstract RU 2761336 C1

FIELD: processing of plastics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of processing of plastics, in particular, to a method for producing products from powders of composite materials based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The method is implemented by pressing powders of pure UHMWPE or composite materials based on UHMWPE containing high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) and/or at least one functional filler with a particle size of 50 to 900 mcm at the premelting temperature of the UHMWPE matrix of 100 to 130°C with additional use of an ultrasonic compactor to intensify the processes of compaction with a frequency of 15 to 40 kHz and subsequent sintering of the workpieces in a thermal chamber at a temperature of 160 to 180°C.

EFFECT: production of a workpiece by sintering, with a specific density equal to the specific density of pure UHMWPE or the resulting composite material based thereon, providing a positive impact on the physical and mechanical properties of the manufactured products, as well as reduction in the overall metal consumption of the process.
