FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: gas-filled cable consists of an external protective hose with an optically transparent plug that has a selective light-transmission factor, manufactured of chemically resistant materials. Additionally, the cable contains insulation and a core of copper conductors; between the optically transparent plug and the core butt-end a gap is provided for containing a photodetector device capable to establish electric connection with the core butt-end.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of the gas-filled cable design in the course of the cable storage, transportation and installation within a chemically aggressive environment.
