FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, namely, fruit growing and can be used for prediction of storage period of fruits and berries on the results of diagnostics of plant tissues of fruit and berry crops. The method includes defining the content of vitamin C in the woody tissues of cuttings of fruit and berry crops in the winter-spring period which precedes the summer period of growing fruits and berries, their ripening and harvesting in the summer-autumn period. Then, graphic dependences of quantities of natural weight loss in the control fruits and berries under conditions of refrigerated storage are received based on the content of vitamin C in the woody tissues of cuttings of fruit and berry crops, on which term and short-term storability is determined.
EFFECT: use of the claimed method enables to extend the capabilities of the diagnostics of plant tissues, to simplify prediction of storage period of fruits and berries, to provide visibility in determining their storage period and the possibility of early prediction.
