FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to otolaryngology, and can be applied in measurement of gaping trachea defects. Method lies in installation of metric scale at the level of defect, photographing defect and determination of its dimensions by computer analysis of the obtained data. As metric scale, marker, made from self-adhering paper with two black points placed on it, is used. Distance between points constitutes 10 mm. Marker is fixed near the edge of defect. After that full-coloured image of defect is obtained by means of digital photocamera under conditions of natural illumination, in macrofilming mode with focus distance 40-45 cm. After that obtained image is analysed on personal computer by means of morphometric software, created on the basis of software package Image J.
EFFECT: application of the claimed invention makes it possible to ensure high accuracy and efficiency in measurement of area of gaping trachea defects of complex configuration.
