FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a medical pumping device. The device comprises a pump having a chamber of variable volume, an inlet connected with the pump chamber and comprising a valve, an outlet connected with the pump chamber and comprising a valve. A drive is provided to vary the volume of the pump chamber. A fluid path comprises the inlet, pump chamber, outlet and an outlet line following the outlet valve. A pressure sensor for measuring the pressure between the valves of the presented path is configured to measure the pressure inside the pump chamber. A processor is used for processing the pressure data received from the pressure sensor. Disclosed is a method for detecting at least one malfunction of an infusion device which comprises the pumping device.
EFFECT: improved sensitivity and accuracy of occlusion detection by measuring the pressure in the internal space of the pump chamber.
