FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A method for inflatable seal pressure monitoring in an air duct involves operations which are used to possess the pressure values describing the inflatable seal pressure; the possessed pressure value is compared to a pre-specified desired pressure value. If a difference of the possessed pressure value and the desired pressure value is greater than a pre-specified allowance; the pressure is changed in the inflatable seal to reduce the specified difference. The pressure is changed at a rate dependent on a difference of the possessed and desired pressure values. The above change rate maintains a delay for a period corresponding to a normal inspiratory and expiratory time, or exceeding this time.
EFFECT: preventing discharge leakage into the patient's lungs round about the seal and reduced risk of air duct displace.
