FIELD: radio engineering, communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method and a device for mapping and reverse mapping of a client signal. The method for mapping of a client signal includes division of a part of or the entire area of an optical channel payload unit (OPU) or an auxiliary optical channel data unit (ODTU) into several subblocks. Besides, the subblocks have the size of N bytes, and N is more or equal to 1; and mapping of a client signal to be transported into payload area subblocks with N-byte division. In technical solutions, when a client signal is mapped, block mapping of the client signal is carried out using a mapping breakdown of the block, therefore complexity of the client signal mapping process may be reduced, and requirements of multiple-speed services are met.
EFFECT: simplified process of client signal mapping when meeting requirements of multiple-speed services.
