FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be applied to optical transport network. For this purpose, in transmitting method received client signal is displayed in container with variable speed OTU-N, wherein OTU-N rate N times exceeds preset reference speed, and then container with variable speed OTU-N is divided into N transport blocks of optical OTUsub subchannel in columns, rate of each OTUsub is equal to reference speed; then N transport blocks of optical subchannel OTUsub are modulated at one or more optical carriers; finally, one or more optical carriers are transmitted over optical fibre.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of transmission capacity.
