FIELD: ceramic materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing corundum ceramic material for structural purposes, intended for operation under conditions of exposure to high mechanical and thermal loads, abrasive wear and aggressive environments. A method for producing structural ceramics based on aluminum oxide includes preparing a press powder from a mixture of corundum powder with a content of particles up to 2.5 μm in an amount of at least 50 wt.%, a sintering additive from a mixture of aluminum-magnesium spinel and mullite powders in a mass ratio of 1:(2-5) in an amount of 4.0-9.0% by weight of dry components, and a technological binder in the form of a 0.5-5.0% aqueous solution of synthamide in an amount of 5.0-15.0 wt.% over the weight of dry components. The molding of the blank is carried out by pressing at a pressure of 30-80 MPa, after which it is fired at 1560-1650°C and holding for 3-8 hours.
EFFECT: increasing strength, crack resistance, as well as the rate of passage of ultrasound through the material, reducing labor intensity and energy costs.
