FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: according to procedure there is controlled level of surface of slag bath and supply of flux to reduce level of bath for recovering former level. Value of reduction of surface level of slag bath is controlled relative to primarily set value and at its reduction to 10-17 % of specified there is supplied flux on surface of consumable electrode near surface of the slag bath at rate of 1.7-2.3 kg/min.

EFFECT: improved quality of metal in melted ingot due to stabilisation of heat balance of slag bath.
