FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for processing of solid radioactive wastes includes preliminary heating of processed wastes in a heater by heat of gases leaving a melting chamber with temperature of 1600-1750°C, charging of wastes into the melting chamber with a tight device via a hole in the side wall of the chamber with the speed of 0.8-1.1 ton per hour for 1 m2 of the liquid melt surface, melting of wastes is carried out continuously in a fuel and oxygen scull chamber, leaving gases from which are sent into a heater, in process of wastes processing the permanent level of liquid metal is maintained in a lined metal bath of the chamber, "dirty" radioactive slag is drained from the melting chamber in the melting section after accumulation of slag layer with height of 250-400 mm on the surface of the metal melt, and pouring of metal produced in the melting chamber is carried out in the section separated from the melting section with a dead partition.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of the method, to reduce evaporation of volatile radionuclides.
