Abstract RU 2487667 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to otorhinilaryngology, and can be applied in diagnostics of exudative otitis media (EOM). Tympanic cavity is examined by means of one-dimensional ultrasound sonography. Auricle is pulled backward and upward, filled with NaCl 0.9% solution at temperature 36-39°C. Ultrasound sensor is placed near auditory meatus opening in such a way that its probing part is submerged into liquid. Registration of sound signal reflected from tympanic membrane and medial wall of tympanic cavity is carried out. In case of two peaks with distance between apexes from 2 to 7 mm are present on sonogram, exudative otitis media is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase accuracy and self-descriptiveness of examination due to improvement of presentation of signals from tympanic membrane and medial wall of tympanic cavity on sonogram.
