DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR EXUDATIVE OTITIS MEDIA Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B6/03

Abstract RU 2730973 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, to otorhinolaryngology and functional diagnostics. Media are visualized in external auditory canal and drum cavity by OCT microprobe sensor. Microprobe directly touches the tympanic membrane. Study is carried out by cross-polarization optical coherence tomography (OCT) with single-step production of an OCT image in direct polarization. Exudate presence in tympanic cavity is registered due to optical properties of gaseous and liquid medium.

EFFECT: method allows non-invasive in out-patient conditions without application of expensive equipment, without use of anesthesia to objectively confirm exudate presence in tympanic cavity by results of cross-polarization optical coherence tomography.
