FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be sued for making rods mainly of aluminium alloys by combined continuous casting, rolling and forming. Proposed device comprises mixing furnace 1, grooved roll 3 and roll 4 with ledge. Said rolls have cooling cavities 5 and make working gage. Female die 6 with gage fillet 8 and lengthwise diametrical grooves 7 on female die outlet surface with clearance relative to said gage fillet is mounted at gage outlet. Tube 10 with outer ribs made in female die diametrical grooves 7 is fitted at female die outlet opening. On one side, said tube thrusts against female die gage fillet while, on opposite side, it thrusts against female die holder 12. Cooled channels are made in clearance 13 between female die outlet surface and tube to communicate with coolant feed and discharge channels 14, 15, respectively. Tube ID exceeds rod OD while tube OD is smaller than female die outlet ID.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and quality of rods.
