FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coated cutting plate for removal of material with chip forming (versions), to method of application of coating system and to coated article. Cutting plate comprises backing 22 and coating. One system of wear-proof coating 40 has bottom layer 42 and top layer 46 including aluminium, chromium and nitrogen. Coating system 40 comprises also coating system composed of intermediate nano-layers 44 reiterating many times and including titanium, aluminium, chromium and nitrogen. Said coating system 44 comprises multiple combinations of alternating layers 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62.Every combination of alternating layers 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62 has basic layer 64 including titanium, aluminium and nitrogen and nano-layer with multiple sets of alternating nano-layers 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 78. Every set of alternating nano-layers 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 78 has one nano-layer with aluminium, titanium and nitrogen and one more nano-layer 84 containing aluminium, chromium, titanium and nitrogen. Thickness of basic layer G is larger that that of nano-layer region F.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of cutting.
