FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a foamed phenol resin composition which contains: resol type phenol resin; a curing acid catalyst for the resin; a foaming agent and a surfactant, characterised by that the foaming agent includes a hydrocarbon-based foaming agent; the surfactant is an alkyl ether of polyoxyethylene, having an alkyl ether component containing 14-22 carbon atoms, and content of the surfactant is equal to 0.01-10 pts.wt per 100 pts.wt resol type phenol resin. The present invention also relates to a method of producing phenol resin-based foam plastic.
EFFECT: obtaining phenol resin-based foam plastic with improved physical properties.
