METHOD OF ASSESSING TUBERCULOSIS PROCESS ACTIVITY AND DEGREE OF PULMONARY TISSUE DESTRUCTION Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2488828 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: percentage of the cells having the phenotype CD27- in relation to blood lymphocytes CD4+ producing IFN-γ in response to the stimulation by mycobacterial antigens is determined. If the value is more than 47%, the active tuberculosis process accompanied by manifested destructive changes in lungs (the presence of multiple cavities of pulmonary tissue) is stated. If the value falls within the range of 47% and 31.2%, the active tuberculosis process with or without insignificant destructive changes in lungs (the absence of cavities or single small cavities) is stated. The values below 31.2% show low activity of the tuberculosis process, latent infection or the absence of infection.

EFFECT: use of the given method enables assessing tuberculosis process activity with the manifested destructive processes in pulmonary tissue, and repair thereof in the course of treatment.
