FIELD: fire-fighting facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of production of fire extinguishing powders, namely to the method of preparing multipurpose fire extinguishing powder extinguishing fires of Class A, B, C and E. The method comprises mixing, drying and grinding of hydrophobisated and target additives and also a main component. As a hydrophobisated additive, a mixture of microtalc [mass fraction of sieve residue No. 0045,% - no more than 0.5, the average median particle diameter (D50), mcm 8-I1 (laser particle analyser "Microsizer 201 A")] with synthetic fatty acids in the ratio microtalk/free fatty acids 10÷0.5-2.5. Also a multipurpose dry chemical powder is provided.
EFFECT: invention enables to reduce material and energy costs, labour intensity of production of fire extinguishing powder.
