FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to concentration coal and other minerals with application of different-density heavy medium (magnetite suspension). Proposed method consists in mixing water with magnetite to feed produced suspension in concentrator feed sump. After mixing said suspension is separated in two fractions, one with larger magnetite to be directed into first service sump while another one with larger magnetite and suspension with smaller magnetite to be directed into second service sump. Suspension density is continuously measured in service sumps. Suspension with larger and smaller magnetite are fed in portions into concentrators feed appropriate sumps to reach preset suspension density magnitudes. Proposed device comprises tank for mixing magnetite with water and pump connected with tank bottom. Besides it comprises hydraulic cyclone and two service sumps, one for suspension with larger magnetite and another one for suspension with smaller magnetite. Tank pump outlet is connected with hydraulic cyclone. Hydraulic cyclone drain pipe is connected with second sump. Sans discharge line is connected with first and second sumps connected at their bottom, with pumps connected in their turn, by their discharge pipes with appropriate concentrator feed sumps.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
