FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus for regenerating hydrochloric acid from spent etching solution formed when cleaning the surface of rolled steel operating in a closed cycle via thermal decomposition of the solution, followed by absorption of the formed hydrogen chloride with water. The apparatus has a collecting tank for spent etching solution, a chamber for preliminary evaporation, a fluidised bed reactor, an absorber for obtaining hydrochloric acid and a wet gas cleaning system. The apparatus further contains a system for removing copper ions from the hydrochloric acid solution obtained in the wet gas cleaning system which consists of a settling tank for reagent treatment of the solution obtained in the wet gas cleaning system, a collecting tank for the spent reagent, a hydrocyclone and a filter for separating the suspension from the spent solution, pumps for re-pumping the spent solution into the hydrocyclone and a collecting tank for spent etching solution.
EFFECT: regenerating hydrochloric acid from spent etching solution with additional purification from copper ions while maintaining a closed cycle for regenerating hydrochloric acid.
