FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for thermal vacuum lamination of photoconverters has a vacuum chamber with a heater, heat-conducting trays for laying glued stacks and a clamp which provides the required force for compressing the stacks. The trays are connected through a centre hole on a vertical column, thereby forming a vertical row, and are spring-loaded relative each other with possibility of matched successive displacement. Two lodgements for stacks are made in each tray symmetrically about the centre hole. The bottom of the trays is able to transfer a compression force to the stacks on the underlying tray when the clamp moves. The latter is placed over the uppermost tray. The lodgements are provided with arresting devices for limiting shift of the stacks and movement of the clamp. The latter are placed at the centre of the longitudinal edges of the lodgements and are able to come into contact with vertical shields of the heater and transfer heat to the tray. Trays on the side of the longitudinal edges are provided with depressions for collecting excess adhesive formed when a stack is pressed, as well as an anti-adhesion coating.

EFFECT: obtaining plane-parallel photoconverters with equal thickness by increasing uniformity of compressing stacks, preventing formation of air pockets between the laminating glass and the photoconverters due to uniform heating of the stacks from the centre to their periphery, and the falling of the adhesive onto photoconverter contacts, reduced size and power consumption of the apparatus and easier loading and unloading of stacks on the trays.
