SUBSTANCE: area of assumed fault on an electric power transmission model is selected; an area of distributed capacitance is eliminated from the model and signals for estimating emergency parameters are generated according to simple laws inherent to the detected area. Emergency parameters are estimated - coordinate of the point of fault and transient resistances, and with non-synchronous observation, the error angle of electrical quantities at different sides of the line. Step by step increase in accuracy of identifying parameters of the model is provided. From step to step, the length of the detected damaged area of the electric power transmission model steadily drops.
