FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to cardiology, public health and health care. Examination of men is performed in accordance with the programme of standardised cardiologic screening with determination of index of total risk of death, age, level of education, professional affiliation, marital status, attitude to smoking, value of diastolic arterial pressure, value of total blood cholesterol, total risk of death from cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is determined by formula: Σxiβi=x1β1+x2β2+x3β3+x4β4+x5β5+x6β6+x7β7, where Σxiβi is index of total risk of death from CVD, x1 is age: number of years for the moment of examination, x2 is education level: 0 is the higher or middle level of education, 1 is primary level of education, x3 is occupation in professional group of hard physical labour: 0 is no, 1 is yes, x4 is marital status: 0 stands for "married", 1 means "divorced, widowed, single", x5 stands for attitude to smoking: 0 means "do not smoke", 1 means "smoke regularly or irregularly", x6 stands for diastolic arterial pressure in mm Hg, x7 stands for total cholesterol in mg/dl, β1, β2,β3, β4, β5, β6, β7 stand for regression coefficients of variables x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6 and x7, and having the following values: β1=0.051; β2=0.634; β3=0.953; β4=1.266; β5=0.068; β6=0.035; β7=0.005. If index of total risk of death from cardiovascular diseases is lower than 6.19, men are referred to category of low risk. If values of index of total risk of death is 6.20-7.87, men are referred to category of middle risk, and if values of index of total risk of death is equal or higher than 7.88, men are referred to category of high risk of death from cardio-vascular diseases.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce morbidity caused by cardiovascular pathology, as well as to avoid further progress of cardiovascular diseases and development of their complications.
