FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device intended for purification of natural waters and effluents of suspended particles and floatable impurities and can be used for water treatment at minor content of floatable impurities or relatively loose requirements to their amount in purified fluid. Clarifier comprises pipeline 1 for tangential feed of initial contaminated fluid, cylindrical case 2 accommodating cylindrical flocculation chamber 3 with its bottom shaped to truncated cone, settling zone including cleaning chamber 4 and afterpurification chamber 5. Said chamber 4 and 5 alternate to cover the part of chamber 3 extending beyond case 2 to shape precipitation zone to right prism. Settling zone base is tightly connected with clarifier case 2 and chamber 3 over their circumferences. Chambers 4 have no bottom inside clarifier case 2 and are composed of inclined rectangular prisms with vertical inner and outer walls 6, 7 of height exceeding water surface in chamber 4. Chambers 4 accommodate inclined thin-layer settling elements 8, 10, their height not exceeding fluid level in chamber 4.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of cleaning.
