FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device intended for purification of natural waters and effluents of suspended particles and floatable impurities and can be used for water treatment at minor content of floatable impurities or relatively loose requirements to their amount in purified fluid. Proposed clarifier comprises pipeline 1 for tangential feed of initial contaminated fluid, cylindrical case 2 accommodating flocculation chamber 3 arranged coaxially therein to change at bottom section into truncated cone. Settling zone comprises purification and afterpurification chambers 4, 5. Trays 20 are tightly secured along outer walls 7 or chambers 4 and communicated by their outlet 21 with chamber 5. Chambers 4, 5 alternate to surround chamber part extending from case 2 to form right prism nearby settling zone. Settling zone base is tightly connected with clarifier case 2 and chamber 3 over their circumferences. Chambers 4 do not have bottom inside clarifier case 2 and are composed of inclined rectangular prisms with vertical inner and outer walls 6, 7. Chambers 4 accommodate inclined thin-layer settling elements 8. 10.

EFFECT: better settling, higher efficiency of purification, simplified design.
