SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to equipment intended for protection of crew and passengers in traffic accidents. Invention covers the control unit and method of recognition of collision. Fact of collision is defined subject to the signal generated by vehicle body noise sensors. Point of impact at vehicle body is defined by the results of analysis on multi-path distribution of signal in the vehicle with its separate components propagating in different paths to acquire characteristic shape and shifted in time relative to each other to reach sensors in superimposed form.
EFFECT: efficient control over protection means, consistent activation of safety means, say, air-cushion or safety belt pre-tensioners.
