SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine with compression ignition and supercharge comprises a unit, where at least one cylinder is installed, a head of a cylinder unit made as connected to the cylinder and equipped with at least one inlet valve and at least one outlet valve. The valve mechanism is designed to control valves in the cylinder unit head. The piston is installed in the cylinder with the possiblity of displacement between its upper dead point (UDP) and the lower dead point (LDP). The valve mechanism is made with the control capability so that the blowdown area (S) limited with curves (500) and (510), which show curves of relative position of inlet and outlet valves relative to the angle of crankshaft rotation, and a horizontal axis showing angles of crankshaft rotation, during which inlet and outlet valves are simultaneously opened, makes from 80 to 120 percent degrees (% degrees), where percent degrees mean integral of relative valve position by the range of the angle of crankshaft rotation, in which the percentage ratio means position of the valve relative to the cylinder diameter. The method of internal combustion engine operation is disclosed.
EFFECT: improved blowdown with preservation of low emissions of exhaust gases.
