FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: 0.02 ml of collected blood, which is diluted 10 times, are used to prepare 11 test tubes, the first test tube containing 0.2 ml distilled water with 2.5 mM CaCl2 (control); the next five test tubes contain 0.2 ml distilled water which contains, besides 2.5 mM CaCl2, adrenalin in concentration corresponding to each test tube (10-10, 10-9, 10-8, 10-7, 10-6 g/ml); and the remaining five test tubes contain, besides 0.2 ml distilled water and 2.5 mM CaCl2, 10-6 g/ml adrenergic blockers (atenolol and nicergoline) and adrenalin in concentration corresponding to each test tube (10-10, 10-9, 10-8, 10-7, 10-6 g/ml). Further, 0.02 ml of blood are added to each test tube, and after 45 s, 0.2 ml of 6% NaCl is added in ratio of 1:1. The number of non-hemolysed erythrocytes in each test tube is counted. Increase in non-hemolysed erythrocytes indicates domination of α-adrenoreactivity and a decrease indicates domination of β2-adrenoreactivity.
