FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: radiation detector (10), having an array of pixels (1), wherein each pixel (1) includes a conversion layer of semiconductor material (4) for converting incident radiation to electrical signals, and wherein each pixel (1) is surrounded by a groove (3), which is at least partially filled with barrier material which absorbs at least a portion of photons generated by incident radiation, wherein the coefficient of filling of the groove (3) with the barrier material varies across the detector (10) in a programmed manner.
EFFECT: reduced crosstalk between radiation detectors and pixels of each radiation detector.
