FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: complex regenerative rotary air heater includes a box in which a rotor with radial cells is placed, each of which consists of an accumulation section located in flue gas flow direction, adjacent to the hot side and filled with packing made from heat storage material and a cleaning section adjacent to the cold side, consisting of a container with perforated bottom, in which granules of pumice stone made of smelter slags with basicity factor M>1 and diameter of 20 to 40 mm are placed. The box is equipped with flue gas and air inlet and outlet branch pipes and connected on gas section cold side to the flue gas outlet branch pipe through an expansion tank equipped with a conical bottom and a mist eliminator.
EFFECT: simpler structure, reduction of corrosion wear of metal packing by combining air heating process with flue gas cleaning from corrosion active impurities and residues of unburnt fuel in the unit itself, which improved economic and ecologic operating efficiency of a rotary air heater.
