FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method for assessing the drug effect on the permeability of the red-cell membranes by sodium with using the determination of a Na+-Li+-exchange transport rate in the red-cell membrane whereat an intracellular lithium exchange rate in the lithium-loaded cells by extracellular sodium from an incubation medium with the analysed substance introduced into a 1-hour incubation medium containing, mM: 150 - NaCl; 10 - glucose; 10 - Hepes-Tris; 0.1 - oubaine, and the varying Na+-Li+-exchange transport rate in the red-cell membrane enabling describing the effect of the substance on the permeability of the cell membranes by sodium.
EFFECT: invention provides optimising the drug therapy selection.
