FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dermatology, and concerns a diagnostic technique for atopic dermatitis in children. The technique involves determining the functional status of cell membranes shown by the maximum speed of Na+-Li+ exchange transport in red cell membranes consisting in measuring intracellular lithium exchange in the ion charged cells on extracellular sodium from an incubation medium. The sodium-lithium exchange transport speed V is determined as a difference of the lithium concentrations in a sodium-rich medium and a sodium-free medium, by formula V=(ANa-AMg)·K mcM lithium/litre of cells/hours, wherein ANa is the lithium concentration in the sodium-rich medium; AMg is the lithium concentration in the magnesium-rich (sodium-free) medium; K is a coefficient of medium dilution and a relation of an amount of red cell supernatant to an amount of previous pre-incubation and incubation media. If the sodium-lithium exchange transport speed in the red cell membranes exceeds 258 mcM lithium/litre of cells/hour, atopic dermatitis is diagnosed in children.
EFFECT: technique provides reliable and effective diagnosing of atopic dermatitis in children for further treatment and post-therapeutic analysis.
