FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngological oncology, and may be used for preventing and treating fungal infections in the patients with voice prostheses. That is ensured by using the fresh aqueous solution 'Hydrolactiva'. This solution is used for oral treatment from the first day after laryngectomy and voice prosthesis positioning. After a probe is removed, a posterior prosthesis inside the oesophagus and pharyngoesophageal walls are treated. The aqueous solution 'Hydrolactiva' is prepared in the ratio - 20-25 g of a dry substance per 150 ml of warm water. The oral cavity is treated by rinsing with the solution 'Hydrolactiva' 3-5 times a day. After the probe is removed, this solution is used for the further treatment of the prosthesis cavity and protection valve. The posterior prosthesis and pharyngoesophageal walls are treated with 150 ml of the solution 'Hydrolactiva' orally administered through a straw with a patient's head and body inclined forward.

EFFECT: method enables preventing the onset and development of the fungal infection in the pharynx and oesophagus, and also considerably increases the useful life of the voice prosthesis, thereby improving the quality of life in the patients after pharyngectomy performed for cancer.
