FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngologic oncology, and can be used for prevention of infectious damage of vocal prostheses in patients after laryngectomy. That is ensured by antimicrobial photodynamic therapy on the area of the vocal prosthesis by administering to its lumen of 1–2 ml RadaGel 0.5 % or Photoditazine gel 0.5 %, which are maintained for at least 15 minutes. Thereafter, the thus treated voice prosthesis is irradiated inside the laser radiation with wavelength of 662 nm laser radiation at a dose density of 30–50 J/cm², optical element 600 mW output power for 2.1 minutes and at an output power of 400 mW - during 5.2 minutes, once a month.

EFFECT: method prevents the onset and development of a fungal infection in the pharynx and oesophagus with prolonged use of the vocal prostheses, thereby improving quality of life of the patients after the laryngeal cancer removal.
